Happy New Year, friends!! Wow, I’m still trying to wrap my head around how fast 2017 went! What a blessed year it was for us. On March 26th, we welcomed Ella Marie Buono into the world, and our lives were forever changed. I have always dreamed of having a little girl so her arrival was something that was so very special for me. Juggling two little ones definitely had it’s challenges in the beginning….well, actually it still has it’s challenges! Ha! I’d like to say I have it all figured out, but I certainly don’t. Most days are fueled by caffeine and feel like a blur, but I’m doing the best I can to make the most of this special time with my babies. They will only be young like this once, and I want to be a part of as much of it as I can….even if that means wanting to pull my hair out some days!
A few months after Ella’s arrival, I had this crazy idea to start a fashion and lifestyle blog! I think when every part of your day is dedicated to taking care of others, it can be easy to lose yourself because you are in “Mom” mode 24/7. I don’t say that as a bad thing because that is absolutely what I want and the season of my life that I am in right now, but it’s important to remember who you were before you started a family, what interests you outside of just being a mom, and to keep those interests alive. I have always loved fashion (attending NYFW is a dream of mine and definitely on my radar), and so I thought “why not share the things I love?”. I still have so much to learn about the blogging world, and I must admit….it is A LOT of work. So much goes into just one post, but it’s exciting and it gives me something to do and to look forward to each week. As cheesy as it sounds, it keeps me feeling alive! The cherry on top was the overwhelming support all of you have shown me. I never expected so much love and interest in what I write about, so from the bottom of my heart…thank you for following me along on this crazy new journey! It means more to me than any of you will ever know!
Although this year brought us our baby girl, Ella, it also took away my first baby girl, Gracie. She was given to me by my mom when I started Nursing School to keep me company and have a companion during that transition in my life. She was with me through some of the hardest times of my life, and honestly helped get me through them so we had a very special bond. My heart aches when I think of her and realize she isn’t here anymore, but I know I will see her again one day and that brings me comfort. She is missed so much, but I’m so glad she was able to greet Ella into the world!
Okay, time to dry my tears. I have so much to be thankful for, and one of those things are all of you! Your support means so much to me, and I appreciate you taking interest in what I have to write about each week. This is only the beginning! I have a really exciting project I’ll be working on in February, and it involves three words…New York City! I am so excited about it and can’t wait to share it with you! I have a feeling this is going to be an exciting year, and I can’t wait for what’s in store for 2018! Happy New Year to you all! Hope it’s your best one yet!
