Hey, friends! I hope you are all staying safe, healthy, and sane during this quarantine time! I’ve been sharing quite a few things on IG stories but realized I am way behind on sharing here on the blog. I’ll be rounding up some home decor and beauty favorites to include on here soon (Sephora’s Spring Sale starts today for Rouge members so be on the lookout for that post in the next few days). Today, I’m sharing how to style denim shorts five different ways! I’m wearing the same pair in each picture, and this has quickly become one of my top denim brands. They are more of an investment, but considering how often a lot of us wear denim shorts, I will say they are worth every penny. I have two different styles in this brand, and depending on your body type, one might suite you better than the other.
Below, I have on the Jaden Short. It’s cut for more of an hourglass figure and cinches in at the waist while leaving room in the hips. The other pair that I have and love is the Parker Vintage. It’s cut for more of a straight figure or if you prefer more room in the waist. I’ll share a pic of that at the bottom of this post. I LOVE them both, and if I had to throw out all of my other pairs of denim shorts and be left with just these, I’d be totally happy with that! For size reference, I’m between a 27 and 28, and got the 27 in both of these. If you want a little more room, I recommend sizing up one in the Jaden short so it isn’t snug on your waist (unless that’s what you prefer).
SWEATER (S) // SHORTS (27) // SANDALS // NECKLACE
Oversized sweaters with denim shorts has always been a favorite for me during spring and summer because it’s an easy look that’s comfortable and still on trend.
TOP (M) // SHORTS // SANDALS // HANDBAG
This is probably my top pick from this try on! I love a top that makes a statement, and these kitten heel sandals are so chic and make your legs look so much longer. I’ve had a thing lately for strappy sandals, and these are a perfect version of what I was wanting.
KIMONO (S) // BODYSUIT (S/M) // SHORTS // SANDALS
Pairing a bodysuit with denim shorts has become a regular combo in my summer wardrobe rotation and adding a kimono completes the look for any daytime activity.
COLLARED SHIRT (S) // SHORTS // SANDALS // HANDBAG // NECKLACE
This is a great option for a casual date night during summer. Collared shirts don’t have to be just for the office! You could opt for a flat sandal and tote bag to make this a casual but elevated daytime look as well.
STAR JACKET (S) // GRAPHIC TEE (one size) // SHORTS // SNEAKERS // HANDBAG
Graphic tees are something I always reach for because they’re casual, edgy, and fun, and they go great with denim shorts. You can add a jacket to tie around your waist with sneakers like above or you can just go for the tee and some flip flops!
