Okay, let’s talk about the latest trend…high waisted shorts. This is definitely something we saw a lot of in the 90’s, but as we all know that era has made a full on comeback, and I’m not mad about it one bit! When I tried on this pair, I knew I loved the style, but it didn’t feel flattering with my sweatshirt I was wearing at the time. Haha! My fashion and trend loving heart knew they were still a good choice because there really are a ton of ways to style these shorts. I sized up one because I didn’t want them fitting too tight. I’m a 4-6 and got the size 6, for reference.
When I started looking through my closet, I initially thought I’d wear them with a bodysuit (I think that’s a great balanced look), but I opted for this linen cami because I seem to really be having an obsession with linen and button front tops lately. Since the top is a little more roomy, I threw on this suede moto jacket to add some contrast which I think completed the whole look! It’s a great elevated weekend outfit and also would be cute to wear for a lunch date.
I sometimes have a hard time styling outfits that are in that ‘casual but cute’ category. I’ve told y’all this before, but most of the time I either look homeless or I’m full on glam. I have to try a little harder to be in between, but I think this look hit the mark. Still fun but not too over the top!
