I cannot believe my baby boy is officially five years old!! Where on earth does the time go?? I know everyone says it, but I feel like it was just yesterday that he was a baby and a majority of the time it was just me and him (Lee worked A LOT when he was a baby so he was gone most of the time). Now our lives have so much more going on (I definitely sometimes miss those simpler times), but I love where we are now and all the friends we’ve made along the way. Nicholas taught me how to be a momma, and we’ve done a lot of learning and growing together, and I’m just so grateful that God chose Lee and I to be his parents.
To celebrate, we had a “High Five” themed party at The Funplex, and I think everyone had a great time…including the parents! They had different activities for the kids to do with an itinerary, there was a party host that took care of everything (highly recommend that so you can enjoy the time with your guests), and it was just such a fun place with so much to do! Watching the kids not have a clue how to work the bumper cars was pretty hilarious, but I think it was something everyone enjoyed. We had such a great turnout, and I couldn’t help but just feel so thankful for everyone that came to help celebrate Nicholas’ special day. It meant so much to me, and I know it did to him as well!
In honor of his special day, I thought I’d share a few things that make me so proud of my little boy. Obviously, I could go on for days about all the things I love about him, but we’ll leave it at five since that’s how old he officially is now! Cue the giant momma tears! Happy Birthday, Nicholas Andrew!!
Five Things I Love About Nicholas
- His compassionate heart. He has always been sensitive to other’s feelings and loves giving hugs and kisses to those he loves. Warms my heart to know we are raising such a sweet boy.
- His infinite love for dinosaurs (and now legos). Even though he’s still working on learning all his numbers, the child can school you on any and every dinosaur species without batting an eye!
- His love for his sister. Seeing the two of them play together, and hear him say “Hey Ella, watch this” just makes my heart want to explode.
- His love for being outdoors. One of his favorite things to do is go on a hike with Lee on the weekends, and I love that they get to share that together.
- His sweet spirit. Not only does he have a tender heart, but his overall demeanor is just so sweet and thoughtful. Of course, he has his moments where the demon voice comes out and he gets rambunctious, but he is always very caring toward others, and there’s only so much of that that is learned. The rest of it is just who he is as a person, and that makes this momma SO proud.
