Yesterday was such a fun day! We took our first trip to the pumpkin patch at Johnson’s Farm, and it definitely got us in the fall spirit….even if it was 85 degrees. The weather has been beautiful around here, but I’m ready for it to be cooler so I can break out the scarves and boots!
Flannel dress: BP. | Denim jacket: Free People (ON SALE) | Booties: Steve Madden (limited sizes so similar options here and here) | Hat: Treasure & Bond (nearly identical here) | Sunglasses: Quay Australia | Watch: Nixon
Since the weather was warmer, I wore this plaid button down dress that is seriously the cutest thing for any fall occasion! It’s a true flannel, and it’s long enough so it doesn’t seem like just a long shirt. It actually does look like a dress, and it’s super comfortable. To give it a little more shape, I just tied this denim jacket around my waist, and it brought the whole look together. I have a few denim jackets…some have rips, they’re different washes, one has pearls, so they can fit all sorts of different occasions. This is one I’m always reaching for though. It’s a softer denim, and I really like the lighter wash. If you’re needing a denim jacket, I can’t recommend this one enough…especially since it’s on sale for less than $40 right now!! Ella’s dress is a two piece set that I found at Target recently, and I knew it would be perfect for an occasion like this. She looked so cute picking apples in it!
We took a tractor ride around the farm and got the chance to stop and pick some apples. Nicholas did so good at picking his! We loaded back on the tractor and went to the pumpkin patch where we got to walk around, and they had the most beautiful field of sunflowers right next to it. At that point, we were all starting to get a little sweaty so we went back to the main area where Nicholas got to play with some other kids, and we got to feed the goats. Ella has been on a big kick lately about feeding people, animals, and our fish at home so feeding the goats was one of the highlights of her day! Well, the apple cider donuts were the biggest highlight, but goats were a close second. I think nearly every picture of her she has sugar all over her lips! Johnson’s Farm is one of the neatest places to go to and take your kids, especially this time of year. I’m sure we’ll be going back plenty more times before they start getting ready for all the Christmas festivities!
