Long time, no talk! I’m sorry for being so MIA lately. We just celebrated Ella’s FIRST birthday so preparing for that party has taken up a ton of my time! This weather has also been so cray that we’ve lost power three separate times so my poor blog has been a bit neglected the last few weeks. But I’m here now to share my final and FAVORITE look from NYC! I still have some pictures to share with my mom and Ella, and those will be coming soon.
This was the first look we shot, and it was freezing! But it was such a rush to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city…especially in this beautiful red statement coat! When I envisioned this outfit, I remembered Olivia Palermo collaborating with Banana Republic and this piece specifically came to mind. Unfortunately, when I went to find it, it was completely sold out since it was pretty much last season. So of course, being the resourceful gal that I am, I logged on to Ebay and found tons of sellers who were selling this coat!! I’m not sure what happens in my head, but I get inspired by something, an idea comes about, and I do everything in my power to execute it exactly as it is in my mind. So when I found this coat for sale, new with tags, (and a third of the price) I jumped on the opportunity and purchased it right away! This tee is an investment piece, but I’ve worn it so many times already, I have no doubt I will get my money’s worth out of it. It’s men’s sizing so I am wearing an XS. It can literally go with ANYTHING. I chose to pair it with this vegan leather skirt and these sock booties so I could show a little skin since the coat itself covers up so much of your body. Since I am short, ankle boots can sometimes make me look “stumpy”, but these fit like a sock so they take on the shape of your natural leg and are actually super flattering no matter how long or short your legs are! They are super comfortable and my favorite shoe I purchased this season.
This trip was a dream come true for me. From where we stayed, to styling the outfits, and just the experience of working with Joseph, it was so much fun and pretty surreal. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about this experience as much as I’ve loved writing about it, and hopefully you’ve been able to get some style inspiration from it as well!
