We’re finally halfway through the looks from my New York trip! I apologize for being so MIA recently. With all of this crazy weather hitting the northeast, we’ve been without power twice so we’re finally getting back to our normal routine since the weather decided to chill out! I know a lot of people are gearing up for spring, but since we still have snow on the ground, these looks fit right in with our current weather situation.
We named this look “Hot Dog” outfit because originally Joseph envisioned me doing the one thing you always have to do when you go to New York….eat a hot dog from a street cart! Who knows, on a day that maybe I’m feeling a little extra, I might actually wear that to grab a hot dog. Ha! Anyway, the hot dog stand lady wasn’t really wanting to participate, or even let us take pictures so we opted for a stroll in Central Park with my momma!
I loved this look because it was simple yet still chic. I love pairing a graphic tee with a statement coat because together they create a very on trend vibe, and it’s comfortable! My faux fur coat was from H&M and very budget friendly so it sold out quickly, but I found some similar options here and here. I paired it with these new faux leather leggings that I recently purchased, and I LOVE them! Don’t get me wrong, my spanx leggings are still my go to, but this pair by Commando had a little more shine and looked even more like leather. I finished the look with these gorgeous statement booties. They added the perfect edge to my outfit! They definitely aren’t something I’d pick to wear if I were walking around the city all day, but for short distances, or girls’ night out, they are perfect. My handbag was a purchase I made for the trip, and she is a beauty! I’ve really been in to structured handbags lately, and this bag was perfect for the trip, and it will also be great for the spring and summer seasons.
My mom’s coat was my favorite thing she brought on our trip! It’s was so soft and warm, and it had the most beautiful print. I gave her these sunglasses for Christmas, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a pair for myself! They look amazing on her, and the pink gives the aviator look a feminine touch.
It was a special experience for us to get to do this together, and I am so happy she joined me during this part of the shoot….pretzel and all!
