Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I know I’ve mainly focused on fashion since launching the blog, but I also want to write about my babies too! I figured an update on what all Ella has been up to is the perfect place to start.
Ella turned five months yesterday, and I’m still trying to figure out how she’s already that old! The saying, “the days are long, but the years are short” is so very true. Every day I feel like I’m playing catch up on what all needs to be done, and then there’s this thing called sleep….I don’t even think I know what that is anymore! The days are definitely long, but in between all of the yawns are these precious moments I have with her that make me forget how tired I am. She is the happiest baby who is easily entertained by all my crazy faces and is always laughing. However, she has a feisty side too! She loves being held pretty much 100% of the day so if you put her down when she’s not feeling it, you’re going to get an ear full!
She recently discovered her feet, and watching her lay in the floor while grabbing her toes and babbling are such cute milestones to see. We also started her on oatmeal, and she’s slowly starting to enjoy it. If you’ve ever smelled infant oatmeal mixed with formula, you’ll know it takes some getting used to! It seems if I mix formula with the oatmeal rather than water she likes that better. Whatever works, right?
Sleeping is something we’re still struggling with. She’s become pretty consistent with going to bed around 9:30-10, but sister is ready to rise and shine around 2:00 am every night. Of course, when my mom kept her she slept until 7:00 am. I don’t get it! I know this is the age where some people implement the cry it out method, but I just don’t think that’s the right fit for us. For now, I’ll enjoy my middle of the night snuggles with my girl. Those moments won’t last forever so I’m cherishing them while I can! Oh, and did I mention she’s still not sleeping in her crib yet? I know, we should have already made that transition awhile ago, but I…I mean she didn’t seem ready. Tonight we’re going to give it a shot so wish us luck!
Life is busy these days, and I’m still learning how to be a mom of two kiddos, but Ella has been such a blessing to us, and we are absolutely in love with her!
If you have any sleeping tips we should try, help a momma out and leave them in the comments! Happy five months, Ella Marie!
